Acute Toxicity Study of Aqua - acupuncture of Cervi Cornu Parvum and Ganoderma Lucidum Karsten in Mice

Abstract
This study was carried out to inverstigate whether acute toxicities of Cervi Cornu Parvum and Ganoderma Lucidum Karsten which made by so-called Water-Alcohol method are or not,
Mice were divided 7 groups equally. One group was control.
Single dose of 100, 150 and 200 times Aqua-acupuncture of Cervi Cornu Parvum were to three groups respectively during the experimental period. And same way Aqua-acupuncture of Ganoderma Lucidum Karsten were. The therapy was performed once on the loci corresponding Choksamni(ST_(36)) of the human body to mouse daily.
Careful observation was done to find out any possible clinical symptoms.
Body weight changes were cheked up every third day in control and treated groups.
At the last day of experiment, all mice were let blood at heart under anesthesia using ether. And later gross examination on the organs of mice was done in autopsy.
As the result the following were achieved.
1. All mice were alive during the experimental period so can not yield Death rate and LD_(50)
2. Any significant clinical symptom was not observed in treated groups.
3. Body weight were increased both control and treated groups and there were no significant difference between them.
4. RBC, WBC, hemoglobin and hematocrit were counted both control and treated groups, and there were no significant difference between them.
5. Serum glucose level were valued both control and treated groups and there were no significant difference between them.
6. Gross examination on the organs of treated groups were showed no abnormal findings in autopsy.
So in general toxicological aspects, Aqua-acupuncture of Cervi Cornu Parvum and Ganoderma Lucidum Karsten were practically nontoxic.
